Description:
This Colt 1911 2nd Battle of the Marne Commemorative is a stunning tribute to one of the final turning points of World War I. Manufactured in 1967 as part of Colt’s official WWI commemorative series, this pistol honors the American and Allied efforts that halted the final German offensive near the Marne River in July 1918.
Chambered in .45 ACP with a 5-inch barrel, the pistol features a rich blued finish and striking white French holly grips, a distinct and elegant touch unique to this commemorative edition. It retains 99% of its original finish, showing only light handling marks and a small flake on the right grip. The pistol is mechanically excellent and is housed in its original commemorative display case, which remains in very good condition with light edge wear.
This rare variant is not only Curio & Relic eligible, but also part of a matched serial series that included other major WWI battle commemoratives. A must-have for Colt collectors or those honoring America’s WWI legacy.
